Job Responsibilities

As a BIM Technician, you will draft, model, convert, produce and edit plans, drawings and other BIM generated work products. This role will be responsible for providing assistance on a project level to the team, proactively interacting and addressing issues among the project team.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Produce setup drawings/sheets/views consistent with instruction, guidelines and BIM standards
  • Modify Architectural BIM files for use in MEP design drawings (clean-up, audit, reference, basic troubleshoot)
  • Setup new projects, drawings and models, for use by MEP engineers, prioritize tasks and communicate workflows with design team
  • Prepare client submissions: may include plotting and/or creating pdf\u0026#39;s or reviewing documents to ensure accurate submissions
  • Draft/generate redlines: plans, diagrams and schedule drawings in AutoCAD and/or Revit from redlined drawings duties as assigned by Management
  • Manage Project file locations, filenames, layers and symbology per SH Group BIM standards
  • Work in coordination with external client BIM Coordinator for modeling and following BIM formats
  • Assist with BIM coordination on projects within Engineering Design team
  • Serve as a mentor to BIM technicians
  • Run basic/preliminary coordination/clash checks on projects

Job Requirements

This is a great opportunity for a CAD/BIM Digital Designer with demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT MEP. To succeed in this role, you will need effective organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, and a team player with strong communication skills.

Additional requirements:

  • Associate degree or completion of trade school or equivalent formal training; Bachelor\u0026#39;s degree preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience with an A/E/C type firm (prefer Engineering firm experience, but not required)
  • Strong knowledge of Revit and ability to update 3D models
  • Extensive knowledge of latest versions of AutoCAD; familiar with AutoCAD MEP
  • Knowledge of drawings and understanding of red marks
  • Able to read floor plans, sections and elevations; basic drafting skills
  • Experience with manipulating and receiving various file formats
  • Familiar with at least one:  Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing trades
  • Experience with the MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Reader
  • Available to work necessary hours to meet project deadlines
