We are seeking an Electrical Designer to join our team in the Los Angeles, CA office. Your experience working in a consulting design firm on commercial building projects will ensure your success in this role. Job Responsibilities

As an Electrical Designer, you will interact with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. You will be responsible for providing trade-specific system design: layout (utilizing CAD/BIM); calculations (utilizing appropriate software); and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external) under the guidance of more senior technical staff.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Creating basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer
• Establishing basic system application, design and operational parameters/sequences under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer
• Participating in the QA/QC process for your work and the work of others as assigned
• Assisting senior engineers and/or senior designers in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets
• Performing construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports
• Supporting engineering senior staff in processing RFI’s, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the ability to use Revit for system layouts, spatial coordination, and production of detailed drawings.  Someone who possesses strong communication and organizational skills with the desire and ability to grow to a senior level designer role would be a good fit for this dynamic role.

Additional requirements of the Electrical Designer include:

• Knowledge to read, review and evaluate floor plans, sections and elevations and visualize three-dimensional space in building construction
• REVIT and the latest version of AutoCAD MEP experience is a must
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a consulting firm and assisting with the design of electrical power systems
• Basic understanding of proper system selection and applicable building codes
• Understanding of the practical application of LEED principles to building designs
