This role will lead and support the engineering of AV systems for a variety of projects while working closely with Owner representatives, landlord/facility managers, government agency representatives and inspectors, internal project managers and design staff for all kinds of spaces including Critical Facilities, Sports and Entertainment, Healthcare Facilities, Airports and Government facilities throughout the country.

Senior Consultant (Technology Design Engineering)

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant you will provide trade-specific system design: layout (mark-ups as well as self-performed production utilizing CAD/BIM), calculations (utilizing appropriate software), and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering). You will be responsible for the programming activities with key client stakeholders including the development of budgets and developing programmatic requirements with clients and stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Represent Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members
  • Design large projects, prepare reports and specifications and provide a high level of technical leadership
  • Perform equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation, and construction administration
  • Provide consulting engineering services including preparation of due diligence reports, gap analyses, feasibility reports
  • Assume responsible charge for the overall economic well being of your projects and establish project budgets and schedules
  • Participates in various trade organizations and prepare presentations and conduct business development activities
  • Develop initiatives to improve and maintain staff skills and technical abilities
  • Provide periodic objective and comprehensive employee evaluations

Senior Consultant (Technology Design Engineering)

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited university in Engineering – preferably in audio, electronics, electrical, control or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 8 – 12+ plus years of design experience in AV consulting field in a variety of markets including critical facilities (control and command centers, call centers, trading floors, etc.), healthcare, aviation, sports and entertainment, corporate interiors, and educational facilities
  • 3 – 5 plus years in Project Management
  • Detailed knowledge of audiovisual design with some IP network knowledge and other low voltage system design
  • Knowledge of equipment from various manufacturers to make proper selections
  • Ability to create and manipulate drawings in AutoCAD is a requirement; REVIT design experience with renderings preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and organizational skills a must
  • Certification such as CTS and/or CTS-D, highly preferred
