Electrical Engineer (Design Engineering)

Job Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for representing the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. You will be responsible for designing large projects, managing the design of smaller projects, preparing reports and specifications, and providing a very high level of technical leadership.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Performing calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation, and construction administration
  • Providing consulting services, including preparation of due diligence reports, gap analyses, and feasibility reports
  • Establishing design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects
  • Preparation of proposals and administering project contracts between SHG and the client, including Add Service Agreements
  • Partner with other senior staff to conduct business development activities, participate in various trade organizations, and prepare presentations

Project Management responsibilities include:

  • Assuming responsible charge for the overall economic well-being of the assigned projects
  • Establishing project budgets and schedules and delivering projects on schedule and within budget
  • Participating in QA/QC process of completed work by staff, and be proactive in the firmwide QA/QC efforts between other offices
  • Participate in interoffice staff resource management and review
  • Maintain client satisfaction and project efficiency
  • Communicate regularly with Client Leaders and Project Managers of other services who may be managing other projects for your same client

Electrical Engineer (Design Engineering)

Job Requirements

Successful candidates should have a current PE registration or in the process of pursuing such as an Electrical Engineer with a solid, and stable work track record. Someone with the capability to fully design electrical systems and manage projects for building types such as Healthcare, Laboratory, Higher Education, Commercial and Retail/Hospitality would be a good fit for this dynamic role.

Additional requirements of the Senior Electrical Engineer include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience working in a consulting firm
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Project Manager capacity
  • LEED accreditation is a plus
  • The ideal candidate should have some medium voltage experience
  • Candidate should possess a strong ability to coordinate between MEP and Low Voltage trades, as well as discuss technical aspects of other trades at a high level
  • The latest version of AutoCAD experience and REVIT is required
