Payroll Administrator

We currently have an exceptional opportunity for a self-motivated Payroll Administrator for our New York or New Jersey office. The ideal candidate will have good organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills and eceptional analytical skills.  

This position requires the timely and accurate process of payroll; and subsequent posting and reconciliation of all salary & expense information as reported in the general ledger.

Job Responsibilities

As a Payroll Administrator you will work closely with Accounting as well as Human Resources in our New York and Los Angeles offices. This role will be the point person for the firm to handle all related payroll functions reporting directly to the firm's Controller and Director of Finance. 

Payroll Administrator responsibilities:
  • Review hours worked for possible discrepancies and process payroll through ADP
  • Respond and investigate to address employee questions regarding paycheck inquiries
  • Reconcile hours worked and hours paid and all payroll related accounts in general ledger
  • Generate accounting and payroll related reports for management
  • Assist and reconcile quarterly and annual tax filings
  • Set up new accounts for the company with the state agencies when needed
  • Assist with auditing and liaison with auditors as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by Management

Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years’ of payroll processing experience
  • Familiarity with wage and hours laws in CA and other states as needed
  • Total familiarity with the current payroll tax filings and all associated quarterly & annual filings
  • Payroll processing experience with ADP Workforce
  • Proficient in MS Excel (V Lookup, Pivot Table, MATCH)
  • Payroll data file reconciliation with payroll register and roster (PTO, Regular Hours, Overtime Pay)
  • Transit benefits reconciliation
